Best Treat for the Winter

By: Leighton Sterling

Starbucks is known for completing the holiday weather. They appear to have done it again with their  new drink. According to Adam Campbell-Schmitts article, Starbucks' New Hot Chocolate Is a Nutty Non-Dairy Treat for Winter, gave an inside view of the drink. Its described as "steamed Almondmilk, mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup finished with whipped cream and Caramel Brulée topping". Sounds very delicious. Get one today and see what you're missing out on!

Katie Hidden on December 17th,2017 she created a recipe on Cuban Rum Cake on "Taste the Islands" website. I personally like this recipe because it is very detailed and organized so you cannot get anything wrong or even miss a step. Its also very detailed and the image makes the food look great. There's a recipe for the cake and how to make the rum syrup. The one cake can serve from 8-12 people.
Hidden did a good job at trying to grasp the readers attention by giving some background on the dish and how it is very popular and common throughout the Caribbean. I also like that she also provided an estimated time of how long in would take one to make this cake, which is about 55 minutes. There's colored subtitles for for each things needed ingredients wise and for the procedure itself.
I think this would make a delicious desert for people to eat or try if they have never had it before. There's no harm in trying something new, especially a desert. The whole blog itself is great for desert recipes and many recipes all together. It's sole purpose is in the name "Taste the Islands", providing people with knowledge and steps on how to make dishes that are popular throughout the Caribbean islands and many other islands as well. A insight to a whole different culture of food aside from the standard American food. I personally love this recipe, and their page.

Delicious Meals For a low Price

By: Jade John
Food is apart of everyone's daily life. However, some may not have the means to get the food that they desire. This is where "cheap eats" come into play. (Cooking Channel,  http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/, by Ali khan), displays tons and tons of delicious foods for cheap prices. Among the many featured chefs, Ali Khan brings a unique strategy to the blog by going on missions around the world to find meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a snack that will amount to $35 or less.
"As the host of Cheap Eats, Ali is right at home taking the audience on a budget-friendly culinary tour of America, highlighting spots almost anyone can afford." Ali does a good job of presenting the recipes that he finds for viewers, allowing them to create the same dish for the same price.

Furthermore, the blog contains many categories in which viewers have a wide variety of food to choose from. Some of these foods include Italian, Indian, Mexican, German, and Chinese, that all include breakfast, lunch and dinner. This allows viewers, such as myself to gain knowledge on several kinds of food and not just on specific genre, ultimately expanding food choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Moreover, visuals such as videos and pictures of the recipes are included to spark human interest. If  the pictures included are appealing to viewers, they are more likely to click on that recipe.
Additionally, the blog does a good job of catering towards the time of the year. Since it is around the time of Thanksgiving, the blog includes an entire section for Thanksgiving recipes that can be made at home or bought in stores. The Thanksgiving section has a large headline to ensure viewers can spot it as soon as they enter the blog.
The blog is very much organized, in which many chefs portray their own uniqueness like Ali Khan.

Crush on food ?

By: Jade John
Heidi, the author of "Foodiecrush" (foodiecrush.com, October 25,2017) discusses all kinds of foods and presents different types of foods based on the season. For instance, it is now the time of fall, Halloween right around the corner in which pumpkin is a famous flavor used for recipes in this season.
Heidi does a good job of grabbing the readers attention. She does this by including vibrant pictures of the foods that she will be providing a recipe for and incorporating a caption that makes the reader think. In fact, this is what attracted me to her blog. An example of this caption is "What ingredient is a better beacon of fall than the pumpkin?" As a reader, I asked myself this question and  realized that pumpkin is the best. What do you think?
Furthermore, Heidi uses great word choice and description when she provides a recipe. She states, "Comfort food chili cravings never tasted so healthy." This in turn, gives a sense of comfort and excitement knowing that the delicious food pictured above this caption can actually be made healthy. Most people would eat something tasty or even junk food everyday if there were no consequences. However, with the knowledge of weight gain and health issues, some people choose a healthier choice that may not satisfy them like some sort of tasty junk food would. This is where blogs like "Foodiecrush" come into play because they provide many sorts of recipes ranging from breakfast to dinner  that can be tasty but also healthy. You can now get the satisfaction that you desire without the terrible consequences.

Food, Everyone's Favorite Love

By: Allana H.
Food is something everyone loves no matter the type. Food is "The Sincerest Love" according to MD Mark Banschick's article posted on Oct 29, 2013. That's also what he named his post. Food varies, has the power to please us, unify us, doesn't talk back and you can't exactly blame food for most things. No matter who comes and goes in your life, food will always be there in the very end, no matter what.
This article says how at times food can be even better than people. Food is a stress reliever, doesn't talk back and food can make others happy. I'm sure many people can be satisfied and put in a better mood with the help of food. I know some may say, 'What about Obesity?'. Yes it is a huge problem, epically in America but the food doesn't force you to pick it up and eat it, its just there although it might be mighty delicious. Hey blame cravings. It's your responsibility to take ownership of it and turn certain ones away but food is not to take to heat of it all. Back to the positives however, food can be even be used a a form of affection. Imagine waking up to a nice bed-in breakfast from either your children, friends or spouse. It's a great feeling.
Food makes the world go round and won't betray you. Love food as much as it loves you. There's more than enough to go around for all.

Fresh, Flavorful Fish Recipe

By:Allana Hoyte

Not everyone likes how some foods come out either not enough flavor or just isn't up to personal standards. However, a post from the New York Times describes a delectable recipe guideline on how to make satisfying fish. In his Oct.13 post, " A Quick-Seared Fish That Sizzles and Satisfies", David Tanis goes into detail on how to make it and what techniques he prefers to use. This is a white-fleshed fish recipe that is quick to make and doesn't require too many ingredients.

Photo: Closari
The author makes this meal seems all the more better by including colorful language like "fancy" "delightful" and "juicy" which makes it sound that much more satisfying. I feel that the fresh sage and the butter you apply before fully cooking the fish will make it that much better. It will add a lot of flavor to it which makes it all the better. This, however, is also the food that needs to be watched closely because the last thing anyone wants is for the food to be burned.  When the pt is nice and hot, put the fish in and let it cook until isn't nice and golden on one side, then flip and repeat the process on their side until it is done. Then cook the brown sugar and sage sauce separately, let it cook, then when you're done put the chicken on the plate and pour the basil leaves with the sugar and sauce right on top of it. A flavorful piece of fish it what you'll have in the end. You can always add more flavor if you feel needed but it'll be rich in flavor. Not everyone likes seafood or red meats, just fish. So this is a recipe that can apply to everyone. Great meal and recipe, everyone enjoy!
